Marie-Annick is an 8-time Spectrum Award Winner for Excellence in Customer Service. She is an entrepreneur, a best-seller author of numerous books, and contributed to many publications over her lifetime. She is a highly respected world leader in the wellness, sports, and healthy lifestyle industries. More importantly to her, she is a Mindfulness Teacher.
Born and raised in Paris, France; she moved to California in 1985 and never looked back. Like most people, she realized that life was challenging in so many ways. After facing traumatic events from a young age, she realized the importance of always moving forwards while planning for the future. Being dyslexic, studies were challenging, even after years of speech therapy. She often found solace in sports where she excelled. With the support of many, she became a world-class table tennis player and a coach in high demand. Over the years, she taught and coached many teams and individuals in her favorite sports from table tennis, tennis to soccer.
Her quest for knowledge and understanding of wellness, human capabilities, spirituality, sufferance, and happiness brought her to embrace various educational pathways. From the Chamber of Commerce & Industry School (Certificate of Commerce & Management - Paris, France), Van Den Meer University (Certified Tennis Instructor), USTTA & FFTT Table Tennis (Certified Instructor & National Coach), CYSA (Certified Soccer Coach), Century Business College (AA Culinary Arts), World Pastry Forum (Certified + ACF and IACF Accredited), Wilton Cake School (Certified Level I, II, and III), Sports Psychology (INS), WSET (Certified Level 2 Wines + Spirits), to various certificates around nutrition, fitness, life coaching, mindfulness, and the states of consciousness. Learning from a multitude of sources, including Buddhist Monks and Masters (Nguyen Tien, Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Pema Chodron to name a few), provided her with wide knowledge and a discipline that has served her well. Being aware of the rapidly changing world, she keeps up with her education on her favorite subjects (Psychology, Dietetics, Mindfulness, and Human Potential).
For the past 22 years, her “Healthy Chef Program” and books were utilized to create educational programs in various schools and industries. The program certified thousands of Chefs around the world specializing in healthy eating and inspired a new generation to embrace such career path. Marie-Annick enjoyed working with an array of clients from doctors, registered dietitians, scientists, clergies, buddhist masters, teachers, restaurateurs, chefs, fitness gurus, farmers, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and endless individuals. Under her guidance, many of her clients embraced healthier lifestyles and inspired many to do the same.
As in her youth, Zen discipline and practices have helped her overcome many challenges and brought much success in her life. She recognized that such knowledge could be helpful to her clients. Her longtime Korean teacher, Master Nguyen Tien, The Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Pema Chodron inspired her to deepen her practices over the years. Embracing such path brought balance and compassion to her life. It also gave her a profound sense of joy and happiness. To her surprise, some monks and Buddhist practitioners compared her to the Goddess Tara and even gave her the surname of “Tara Tengen” (Mother of Liberation with Heavenly Eyes). With the encouragement and permission of her late Zen Teacher, Master Nguyen Tien, and to perpetuate his teachings, she is now fully committed to promoting such secular-inspired zen philosophy which she has embraced for more than four decades.
Yes, coaching has always been a passion of hers while diminishing suffering her life mission. She rejoices over the betterment of lives and seeing dreams realized. She often volunteers for projects that support human dignity, wellness, women' welfare, and children with dyslexia. She is thankful for the numerous business partners that embraced her mission all these years and for clients who trusted her with private matters. She is grateful to all her teachers who keep coming into her life. She believes in actions that promote self-responsibility, respect, wellness, growth, equality, equanimity, compassion, kindness, peace, and happiness.
Marie-Annick is highly respected for her professionalism, knowledge, compassion, and skills that bring undeniable human progress.
